History of Town

Chad and Eleanor Usher combined their two first names to create the name Chaleanor. They started as a guest house for visiting students, but eventually it transformed into a hotel in 1994 and since expanded to 18 rooms. Chad is a visionary person and is always improving the property in whatever way he can, to give the guests a more comfortable stay. His cooperative spirit of happiness easily radiates to those around him.

Chaleanor Hotel is located in Dangriga a town which was once called Stann Creek Town. Dangriga which is also known as the Cultural Capital of Belize is home to approximately 10,750 people. This town has a vast diversity of cultures with the Garinagu being the dominant race. We are centrally located and within close proximity to restaurant, Banks, Stores and other businesses.

We are in a strategic location for island and sea adventures with the worlds 2nd largest barrier reef just about 12 miles off the coast. Also we are just a 3-5 minutes walk away from the beach. Furthermore, Stann Creek District is known for being the agricultural belt for citrus and Banana.
